Ms. von Natzmer was born in 1969 in Wiesbaden, Germany and grew up in Germany and Austria. She attended the University of Vienna, Austria and Imperial College, University of London, U.K., from which she graduated in 1991 with a B.Sc. Degree in Biotechnology. In 1993, she earned a Masters Degree in Molecular Biology (Microbiology, Genetics, Plant Physiology & Law) from the University of Freiburg, Germany. After finishing her Masters thesis, she conducted research at the Max-Planck Institute for physiological and clinical research in Bad Nauheim, Germany, studying a presumed obesity gene in rats. She received her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Washington College of Law, American University, in 1999.
Ms. von Natzmer has broad experience in patent preparation, patent prosecution, opinions and licensing, as well as trademark prosecution. Many of Ms. von Natzmer's clients are small and medium sized biotechnology companies, which put a strong emphasis on their IP assets. Ms. von Natzmer also serves as patent counsel for an array of prominent institutions of higher education.
Ms. von Natzmer is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and is admitted to the New York, the District of Columbia Bar and the Maryland Bar. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the bar associations of the states she is admitted to.
